ALBANY, N.Y. – Hitting the road for the first time in conference play, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated at the College of Saint Rose on Tuesday night by a score of 3-0 (19-25, 14-25, 22-25).
It was a balanced offense for the Blue and Gold as five different Setters recorded multiple kills in the match.
Pace's trio of
Cydney Gardner (Snellville, Ga./Brookwood),
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) and
Madisen Lupica (Buchanon, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) all tallied a team-best five kills, while
Morgan Amos (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) and
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) each chipped in three putaways.
Freshman
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) served as the main distributor for Pace. The Westchester County native dished out a team-high nine assists, while sophomore
Stephanie Sicilian (White Plains, N.Y./Valhalla) added five helpers.
Defensively, it was a pair of solo blocks by
Abby Robertson (Solana Beach, Calif. /Westview) that highlighted the night. Senior
Emily Cockell (Springfield, Mo./Kickapoo) led the Blue and Gold with five digs.
