PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following standout efforts for the Blue and Gold last week, sophomore
CJ Defeo (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue Medford) of the Pace University men's cross country team and senior
Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) of the field hockey squad have been named the Setters of the Week, presented by NewYork-Presbyterian, for the week ending Sept. 26, 2021.
Defeo served as the Setters' top runner at last week's Jasper Fall Invitational. The Long Island native clocked Pace's fastest 8K time of the season at 33:16.5. Defeo placed 20
th overall in the race, leading a Pace group that had five finishers within the top-28.
Henderson totaled 18 saves, while allowing just four goals, across Pace's 1-1 stretch last week. The Australia native was especially impressive on Saturday as she racked up a season-high 13Â stops at No. 4 Assumption. Henderson currently ranks fourth in the NE10 in save percentage this season (.796), while playing the third most minutes in the conference.
