MONTGOMERY, N.Y. – Hitting the halfway point of the 2021 regular season, the Pace University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Jasper Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Men's Results (3rd Place, 8K Course)
Sophomore
CJ Defeo (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue Medford) led a Pace contingent that featured five finishers within the top-28. The Long Island native clocked an 8K mark of 33:16.5, which was good for 20
th-place.
Senior
Killian McCole (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) followed Defeo in 24
th-place (34:51.7), while junior
Sean Lowery (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) posted a mark of 35:50.6 to place 26
th.
The Setters' scoring was rounded out by near-identical times from juniors
Ryan Murphy (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) and CJ Lugo. Murphy put together an 8K of 37:40.6, while Lugo finished right behind with a mark of 37:43.6.
Women's Results (10th place, 6K Course)
Senior
Juliet Rich (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School) posted the top time for the Setters on Saturday. The New York City native placed 64
th with a 6K mark of 26:31.8.
Freshman
Meryl Mizell (Round Rock, Texas/Stony Point) and senior
Marina Lopez (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa) served as Pace's next two finishers, tallying respective times of 28:01.8 (75
th-place) and 28:25.1 (76
th).
A pair of seniors capped off the Blue and Gold's top-five.
Lisa Clarke (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) rounded the course in a time of 29:03.3 (78
th) while
Crystal Raines (Roosevelt, N.J./Hightstown) clocked in at 29:28.6 (80
th).
