PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In similar fashion to how their 2019 season ended, the Pace University field hockey team was victorious to begin 2021 on Thursday afternoon. The Setters put together a 3-0 non-conference win over Saint Thomas Aquinas College.
It was a dominant showing for the Blue and Gold, who put together a 19-2 shots advantage and a 12-1 edge in penalty corners.
Senior
Danielle Merante (Garrison, N.Y./Walter Panas) sparked the Pace attack with a goal in the 11
th minute. She also tacked on another tally in the third quarter to give the Setters a 3-0 lead.
Junior
Hannah Wyllie (Guildford, England/George Abbot School) served as the other goal-scorer for the home squad. The England native found the back of the net in the 39th minute.
Juniors
Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and
Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) were each credited for assists on Merante's two goals.
