Pace Field Hockey Tallies 7-0 Win at AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Fueled by six different goal-scorers, the Pace University field hockey team tallied a 7-0 win at American International College on Saturday afternoon. The Setters, now 2-0 this season, have put together a 10-0 scoring margin against their first two opponents.

The Blue and Gold's onslaught featured a three-goal second quarter to build up a 4-0 edge at halftime. Senior Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) earned the win in net for the Setters, making five saves across a full 60 minutes.

Freshman Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) notched her first two career goals in the opening 21 minutes of the game, while classmate Francesca Fava (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) and junior Hannah Wyllie (Guildford, England/George Abbot School) also found the back of the net in the first half.

Dietz added an assist in the contest as she finished the day with a team-high five points.

Another freshman, Mylaina Schippers (Mount Bethel, Pa./Bangor Area), stretched Pace's lead to 5-0 in the third quarter, while Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) and Hannah McKensie (Mays Landing, N.J./Cedar Creek) rounded out the attack, each with goals in the final 11 minutes of regulation.

Bosher also earned one of Pace's six assists in the contest. Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) tallied two of those helpers, while Yske Brongersma (Arnhem, Netherlands/Thomas a Kempis) and Olivia Zmyewski (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) each recorded their first career assists.

The Setters will travel to Pennsylvania on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. matchup at Bloomsburg University.
