SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following a scoreless final 68 minutes of regulation and overtime, the Pace University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Le Moyne College on Wednesday afternoon. The tie score moves the Setters' record to 2-1-1 this season.
The Dolphins struck first in their NE10 opener as Amya Naja found the back of the net less than two minutes into the contest. Following a defensive save by senior
Carolina Ivanov (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich), Naja followed the play to notch her first goal of the season.
Undeterred by the rapid deficit, Pace found its equalizer near the end of the first half— a goal that ended up being the only other tally of the day.
After sophomore
Amber Probasco (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) earned a penalty in the Dolphins' box, senior
Isabel Villar (Pomona, N.Y./Paramus Catholic) buried a PK to make it 1-1 in the 42
nd minute.
With an even score on the scoreboard, Pace had its chances during the rest of regulation. The Blue and Gold earned six of their eight corner kicks after halftime, while also putting three of their four shots-on-net across the final three periods.
Freshman
Annabella Cole (Selden, N.Y./St. Anthony's) played the final 65 minutes in net for Pace, making three saves to keep the game tied.Â
