Seven Setters Named NE10 Academic All-Conference for Spring 2021

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following exceptional performances both on and off the field this past spring, seven Pace University student-athletes have earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference recognition for 2021.

Christian Aich (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) and Mitchell McCabe (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford/ Bridgton Academy) of the Pace baseball team, Alan Singleton (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Pierrefonds Comprehensive) and Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) of the men's lacrosse squad, Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) and Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) of the women's lacrosse team, and Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) of Pace Softball make up the Setter contingent on NE10 Academic All-Conference teams.

Pace's 2021 Spring NE10 Academic All-Conference Selections

Christian Aich (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) | 3.53 GPA | Business Management
Aich, the NE10's Southwest Division Rookie Pitcher of the Year, posted a 5-0 record with a 2.41 ERA across 47.1 innings of work. The NE10 first-teamer finished the regular season with more than a strikeout per inning pitched (44 total), while walking just eight batters. Aich allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 10 appearances. He registered his best performance against Stonehill on April 17 when he struck out 10 across eight innings, while yielding just a single run.

Mitchell McCabe (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford/ Bridgton Academy) | 3.9 GPA | Business Management
McCabe, an NE10 All-Conference Second Team selection, batted .333 across 26 games with 18 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Additionally, he finished the year tied for the team lead for the most doubles on the squad with seven. McCabe piled up six multi-hit games, including a 5-for-6 effort with four runs scored in a doubleheader sweep at New Haven on May 1. He also went 4-for-8 with five RBIs in another two-game sweep of the Chargers on March 21.

Alan Singleton (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Pierrefonds Comprehensive) | 4.0 GPA | Computer Science
Singleton, who was recently named a USILA Scholar All-American, led Pace with 34 goals during the 2021 campaign en route to being named a USILA All-America Honorable Mention and NE10 Second-Teamer. He also chipped in nine assists and 18 ground balls, while starting all 13 games for the Blue and Gold. Singleton netted goals in all but two games, including five contests where he scored three or more times.

Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) | 3.52 GPA | Corporate Finance
Lewis posted one of the most illustrious seasons in the history of Pace Athletics in 2021. The USILA National Defensive Player of the Year ranked second in the country in caused turnovers (36), while also leading the Setters in ground balls with 37. Lewis was anointed both the NE10 and USILA North Region's Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded at least one caused turnover in each game, including a career-high eight against top-ranked Le Moyne. Following the season opener, Lewis collected ground balls in each contest as well with a season-high seven against seventh-ranked Adelphi. He also recorded a pair of goals this season.

Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) | 3.85 | Accounting
Conway, an NE10 All-Conference and IWLCA All-Region first-teamer, tallied 29 goals, five assists, 11 ground balls, and four caused turnovers in 2021. She also ranked third on the team with 37 draw controls. The junior recorded a trio of four-goal performances, helping the Setters to triumphs in each game. While netting at least one goal in each game this season, she also scored a total of seven times against the likes of Adelphi and Le Moyne. Conway finished the regular season with a total of 10 tallies across the Setters' final three contests.

Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) | 3.81 GPA | Advertising and Integrated Marketing Management
Rafferty, another NE10 All-Conference and IWLCA All-Region selection, Pace's second-leading scorer this season, registering 34 goals on 41 total points. She netted 10 free-position goals while also tallying 11 ground balls, five caused turnovers and a team-high 44 draw controls. The team captain posted five-goal performances on two separate occasions, while also netting four-goals in three-consecutive contests. She became the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career goals during Pace's playoff win over Saint Rose.

Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) | 3.9 GPA | Psychology
Boudreau was named to the NE10's All-Conference Third Team after batting .313 in 20 games played with 10 runs scored and five stolen bases. Boudreau was especially impressive down the stretch as she went 11-for-32 with three walks during the Setters' final 10 games of the regular season. She struck out just four total times in 54 plate appearances.
