Pace Softball Swept in Doubleheader at New Haven

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – In their final doubleheader of the regular season, the Pace University softball team was defeated twice at New Haven on Sunday afternoon (6-1, 2-1).

Freshman Kaylani Miller (Los Angeles, Calif./Village Christian) continued her outstanding rookie campaign with another great offensive day. The California native led Pace with a pair of hits in both games, while finishing the afternoon 4-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored.

Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) put together a 2-for-4 first game while knocking in Pace's lone run on an RBI single in the third.

Emma Carruth (Torrance, Calif./Beverly Hills) went 2-for-2 in the finale with a walk, as her and Miller combined for the Setters' four hits in the game. Miller is now batting a team-high .387 this season with a slugging percentage over .700.

Senior Mackenzie Garrick (South River, N.J./South River) pitched well in the Game Two loss. The right-hander allowed just one earned run across six innings of work.

Graduate student Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W Baker) pitched well in the opener for Pace, recording 5.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
