PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing at home to begin the 2021 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, the 18th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team tallied a 20-8 triumph over Saint Rose in the Divisional First Round on Friday night.
It was another dominant effort from the Blue and Gold as they recorded their eighth double-digit victory of the season. The Setters have put together an average winning margin of 12.3 goals across their nine triumphs in 2021.
Pace started the game on a 12-1 run prior to taking a 10-goal edge into the halftime break. Saint Rose was never able to cut the Pace lead to less than eight goals across the final 40 minutes of regulation.
Senior
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) led the charge with a game-high four goals and six total points. The Long Island native eclipsed 100 career tallies—becoming the fourth player in program history to do so—with her fourth goal of the contest in the first half.
Classmate
Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) also registered six points in the victory courtesy of three goals and three assists. The senior continues to lead the entire NE10 in both goals (49) and total points (55) this season.
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) supplemented the Pace attack with four goals, while also equaling a team high with five draw controls.
Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot),
Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) and
Sydney Juvelier (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) all found the back of the net twice to round out the Setters' top offensive performers.
Junior goalkeeper
Sienna Masullo (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai School District) earned the win in net following a nine-save effort across the complete 60 minutes.
