Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

No. 13 Men's Lacrosse Falls at No. 6 Adelphi, 14-9

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – In the final of three matchups this regular season, the 13th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team was defeated at No. 6 Adelphi by a margin of 14-9 on Saturday.

A 5-0 spurt for the Panthers during the second quarter served as the largest difference maker in the game. With the score tied at 4-4, Adelphi tallied five straight goals in less than six minutes to take a 9-4 advantage with 6:56 left in the half.

From there, the Setters were only able to get within three tallies during the rest of regulation.

Both goalkeepers played well in the contest, combining for 31 saves. Pace's Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) posted a season-high 16 stops, while the Setters finished with 24 shots-on-goal.

On the offensive side of the ball, it was a balanced attack for the Blue and Gold. The Setters had seven different goal-scorers record their nine tallies.

Alan Singleton (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Pierrefonds Comprehensive) and Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) both put in a pair of goals, while Singleton finished the game with a team-high four points.

The Setters put together a 37-36 edge in ground balls. Graduate student Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) nabbed a team-best seven ground balls to go along with three caused turnovers.
