PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Coming into the day on a four-game winning streak, the Pace University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Southern Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.
Game One – SCSU 4, Pace 2
With the score tied at 1-1, a three-run sixth inning for Southern Connecticut proved to be the difference in the opener.
Arielle Acosta (Union City, Calif./Moreau Catholic High School) evened the game up at 1-1 in the fifth on an RBI double down the left-field line. Acosta, who is currently Pace's top hitter this season (.400), put together a 4-for-4 effort at the plate during the first game.
