Pace Baseball Swept in Doubleheader at SCSU

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Continuing a stretch of road doubleheaders, the Pace University baseball team was defeated twice at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.

Game One – SCSU 8, Pace 4
A combined seven runs across the middle three innings fueled Southern Connecticut State in the opening contest. Up 5-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Owls put three across to break things open.

Pace's offense in Game One was highlighted by a two-run triple off the bat of Matt Bass (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) in the fifth, and a solo home run from Harrison Treble (Oyster Bay, N.Y./Oyster Bay) in the sixth.

Bass joined Miles Kelly (Mattituck, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) and Andrew Primm (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) with multiple hits in the contest as the trio combined to go 6-for-12 at the plate.

Game Two – SCSU 10, Pace 4 (Seven-Inning Game)
Southern Connecticut tallied multiple runs in four different innings in the second game of the day. After Pace cut the Owls' lead to 4-3 in the fourth, SCSU put four across in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Bass and Kelly were once again two of the Setters' top performers at the dish. Bass finished 2-for-3 with a walk, while Kelly went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
