SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Facing the third-ranked team in the country on the road, the 18
th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-6 contest at Le Moyne on Wednesday. The loss is the first for the Setters this season, putting their record at 4-1 in 2021.
The Blue and Gold had five different players record their six goals against the Dolphins.
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) found the back of the net twice while
Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas),
Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh),
Emma Norton (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), and
Sarah Witherbee (Easton, Conn./Joel Barlow) also notched tallies.
Conway chipped in an assist as well while Rafferty led the Setters with four draw controls. Pace's offense did put together 19 shots-on-goal as Le Moyne goalkeeper, Paige Crandall, responded with 13 saves.
Le Moyne jumped out to a 6-1 lead across the opening 17 minutes of the game before gaining a 10-3 edge at halftime.
