Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

10th-Ranked Men's Lacrosse Falls at No. 1 Le Moyne, 14-11

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Continuing an extremely tough week of competition, the 10th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team was defeated at No. 1 Le Moyne on Saturday by a score of 14-11.

The Setters (1-3) hung tough against the top-ranked Dolphins (3-0), staying within four goals for the majority of the second half. A Rowan Kelly (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) tally with 12:42 left in regulation was as close as the Setters would get (13-10) in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) led the Blue and Gold offense with five points on four goals and an assist. Graduate student Alan Singleton (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Pierrefonds Comprehensive) registered a hat trick of his own, finishing as the only other Setter with multiple tallies.

Jake Veres (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) put together a pair of points on a goal and an assist, while Joseph Diggle (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and Blake Balcaen (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) rounded out the Setter scorers.

Defensively, Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) tallied three caused turnovers and four ground balls—both of which were team-highs—while junior goalkeeper Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) posted 11 saves in net.

Patrick Mulcahy (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and Maxwell Streety (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) matched Lewis' four ground balls in the game.
