PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Georgian Court on Thursday in a non-conference doubleheader. The Setters were defeated by final scores of 5-3 and 7-2.
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) registered her third career home run in the first game of the day. She launched a two-run blast in the third inning to provide the Setters with a 3-1 lead.
Gwen Pederson (Sylmar, Calif./Granada Hills Charter) knocked in Pace's other run in the first contest, hammering an RBI double to left field in the first inning.
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) also put together a solid opening game with a 2-for-3 effort at the dish.
Pace's offense mustered just eight hits across the 14 total innings—two of which came off bunt singles in the second game of the day.
Senior pitcher
Mackenzie Garrick (South River, N.J./South River) tossed a complete game in the opener, allowing four earned runs while striking out a pair.Â
