PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing their second NE10 doubleheader in as many days, the Pace University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Adelphi on Sunday afternoon. The Setters were defeated 7-0 in the opener before falling 9-4 in the final game of the four-game weekend series.
Junior
Arielle Acosta (Union City, Calif./Moreau Catholic High School) led the Pace offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in the second game.
Graduate shortstop
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) also tallied multiple hits in the series finale, finishing 2-for-3 at the dish with two runs scored.
Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada/Mathieu-Martin) and
Kaylani Miller (Los Angeles, Calif./Village Christian) chipped in RBI singles of their own in the second game of the day.
Adelphi pitcher Ally Muller tossed a one-hit, complete-game shutout in the afternoon's opener.
Sophomore
Gwen Pederson (Sylmar, Calif./Granada Hills Charter) logged the only knock for Pace, in addition to earning one of two walks given up by Muller.
Up Next
The Setters will be back at home on Wednesday afternoon when they host a doubleheader against Georgian Court (2:30 p.m.).
