PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing the first of two home games in the next three days, the Pace University men's basketball team dropped a 70-67 contest to Felician University on Thursday night. The non-conference defeat puts the Setters' record at 8-2 this season.
The Golden Falcons' triumph was sparked by a 15-3 run mid-way through the second half. The visitors turned an eight-point deficit into a four-point lead with 6:46 remaining.
Felician went on to close out the final 5:02 of regulation with an 8-4 spurt to clinch the win.
Graduate point guard
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) led the way for the Setters with a game-high 19 points. He also finished the contest with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
The Powell brothers joined Jacobs in double figures with a combined 32 points. Junior
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) registered his sixth-career double-double courtesy of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) chipped in 15 points and four boards.
Graduate forward
Dominick Cristiano (Valhalla, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic/Greens Farm Academy) also supplied a solid stat line of eight points and a team-high three blocks.
The Setters made just 27 of their 57 shots from the field (47.4%), including 7-of-24 from three-point range.
