Alexis Thompson Accepted into NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Alexis Thompson of the Pace University Athletics Department has been accepted as an attendee of the NCAA's 2022 Emerging Leaders Seminar. Thompson currently serves as the Setters' Coordinator for Student-Athlete Support Services.

"We are extremely excited for Alexis on earning this great opportunity with the NCAA," said Pace's Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Matt Anthony. "She has been a tremendous addition to our department this year, and we are looking forward to watching her continued growth within Pace Athletics and beyond."

Held annually, the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar provides leadership, educational and transitional programming for current graduate assistants and interns from NCAA member schools, conference offices and affiliate organizations.

The three-day virtual program (Feb. 2-4, 2022) educates, develops and connects selected participants and equips attending young professionals with the skills necessary to accelerate their career progression in college sports.

In her current position at Pace, Thompson serves as the liaison between the athletics department and the Learning Assistance Center, overseeing the Setters Ed program which consists of mandatory monthly education modules. She is also serving as Co-Advisor to the Student-Athlete Athletic Committee (SAAC) to support their community service and charity fundraising initiatives.

In addition to Thompson's student-athlete support duties, she also assists with the completion of various NCAA/institutional reporting (EADA, NCAA APC, NCAA Financial Report, NCAA Graduation Rates, NCAA Sport Sponsorship & Demographic Form).

Prior to arriving in Pleasantville, Alexis was an NCAA Division III student-athlete and team manager for The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball program.

Thompson graduated from The College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, N.Y. with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in May of 2021 and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Professional Studies in Sports Management from St. John's University in Queens, N.Y.
