Pace Women's Basketball Wins at Adelphi, 70-61

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Coming off their first loss of the season, the Pace University women's basketball team responded with a 70-61 win at Adelphi on Tuesday night. The road victory pushes the Setters' record to 6-1 overall this season, and 4-0 inside the NE10.

Down by as many as 17 points in the first half, the Setters settled down nicely in their fourth conference win of the season.

Pace put together an 18-10 second quarter, while outscoring Adelphi by 18 points across the final 30 minutes of regulation. Coach Seymour's squad ended the first half on an 18-2 run to flip the script on the Panthers.

The Setters' attack was led by a combined 40 points from graduate student Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) and sophomore Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman). Schetter notched 20+ points for the fifth straight game, while Sinclair poured in a season-high 18 on 7-of-8 shooting.

Sinclair also tallied three steals and three assists—both of which were team-highs.

Senior Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) supplemented the offense with nine points, while freshman Tower Lorde (Saint Michael, Barbados/The St. Michael School) hauled in a team-high nine rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.

Pace's defense was once again stout against the Panthers, especially in the second and third quarters. Adelphi made just 22-of-64 shots (34.4%) from the field, including 3-for-21 from three-point range.

The Setters continue to lead the NE10 this season in scoring defense and opponents' field-goal percentage.
