ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Led by a pair of career-high performances, the Pace University women's basketball team recorded an 80-70 win at Dominican College on Friday night. The non-conference victory improves the Setters' record to 7-1 this season.
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) and
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) were each sensational in the Blue and Gold's highest-scoring game of the season.
Schetter, who currently leads the NE10 in scoring this season (22.4 ppg), piled up a career-high 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting. She also chipped in nine rebounds and three blocks.
Schetter has now scored 20+ points in six straight games, while also averaging 9.8 rebounds during that span.
Hackett joined in with a career night of her own thanks to 25 points and six assists. She is now ranked third in the NE10, dishing out 5.0 helpers per contest this season.
Freshman
Tower Lorde (Saint Michael, Barbados/The St. Michael School) also posted a stellar stat line. The Barbados native neared a double-double with nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) served as Pace's top rebounder on the night with 10 boards.
The Setters' offense was helped by a 17-of-24 night at the free-throw line and also a 46-30 advantage in rebounding.
Down by three entering the fourth quarter, the Setters outscored Dominican by a 24-11 margin across the final 10 minutes.

The Setters will be in action again on Sunday when they travel to take on Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 1 p.m.
