Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Pace Women's Basketball Soars Past STAC, 71-47

SPARKILL, N.Y. – In their second road game played in three days, the Pace University women's basketball team picked up a 71-47 win at Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Sunday afternoon. The non-conference victory puts the Setters' record at 8-1 this season.

The Blue and Gold's latest triumph featured another big second half. Up by six at the break, Pace outscored STAC by a 38-20 margin across the final 20 minutes.

For the second straight game, Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) tallied a career-high 29 points. She also grabbed 11 rebounds to finish with her 17th career double-double.

Schetter's stat line also featured a pair of blocks, which puts her at 100 swatted shots for her career. The Beacon, N.Y. native becomes just the eighth player in program history with at least 100 career blocks.

Following Schetter, it was an extremely balanced offense. The Setters had eight other players tally at least one field goal in the game.

The Blue and Gold's entire starting lineup also finished the game with at least three assists apiece.

Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) led that contingent with 10 points, while classmate Kelsey Quain (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) knocked in three three-pointers to finish with nine points.

The Blue and Gold's defense was once again stout. The Setters forced 20 turnovers, blocked eight shots and allowed less than 50 points for the third time this season.

Pace continues to lead the NE10 in scoring defense, allowing opponents to average just 54.0 points per contest.
