GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Highlighted by one of their best defensive performances of the season, the Pace University men's basketball team picked up a 58-47 win at Adelphi on Tuesday night. The road triumph improves the Setters' record to 8-1 this season, 4-0 in the NE10.
The Blue and Gold forced Adelphi to 14-of-51 (27.5%) shooting from the field, including 7-for-35 (20%) from three-point land.
Offensively, it was three Setters in double figures leading the way.
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School),
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) and
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) piloted the attack with a combined 33 points.
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) also led the Blue and Gold with seven rebounds and three steals, while Jacobs dished out four assists.
Graduate guard
Austin Gilbertson (Etters, Pa./Trinity) nearly reached double digits with nine points, in addition to posting four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
The Setters closed out the game on a 10-2 run over the final 3:33 of regulation.
