PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Highlighted by a season-best output from beyond the arc, the Pace University women's basketball team tallied a 69-44 win over The College of Saint Rose on Wednesday night. The decisive victory pushes the Setters' record to 5-0 this season, including 3-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Pace's latest triumph featured a season-high 10 made three-pointers, including seven coming in the first half. On the other side, the Setters' forced Saint Rose to put forth a 3-for-17 (17.6%) effort from long range.
Trailing 11-3 in the first quarter, the Setters put together a 17-5 run to seize momentum. Another 18-5 spurt put them up 41-29 with 7:38 left in the third quarter.
Pace blew the game open with a 14-0 run to open the fourth quarter.
Graduate forward
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) once again led the Setters with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting. She also grabbed eight rebounds, signifying the fifth straight game with at least eight boards.
Classmate
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) and senior
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joined Schetter in double figures. Hackett tallied a season-high 15 points, while Rivera added 10 points and a team-high five assists.
Sophomore
Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) served as the Setters' top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards. She also chipped in six points and two assists.
