PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University men's basketball team has been ranked sixth in the latest D2SIDA East Region Poll, released on Monday.
The Setters are 8-2 to begin the new campaign, including a mark of 4-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Pace is currently the only team in the NE10 with an undefeated conference record. In fact, the entire Southwest Division is comprised of two-loss squads.
Pace's impressively balanced offense currently has five players averaging in double-figures this season. Junior
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) leads the contingent thus far at 14.1 per contest, while
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) is posting 11.9 points per game.
Pace's trio of
Brandon Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush),
Marc Dadika (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saint Mary's Rutherford) and
Dominick Cristiano (Valhalla, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic/Greens Farm Academy) are all averaging around 10 points per outing.
Jacobs is currently slotted third in the NE10 in assists per contest (6.1), while Cristiano (64.6%) and
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) (62.0%) are both in the top-five of the conference in field-goal percentage.
As a team, the Blue and Gold is currently ranked first in the NE10 in scoring defense this season. Pace is allowing 61.0 points per game, including just 51.0 points in NE10 contests.
