Pace Men's Basketball Earns Comeback Win over Chestnut Hill, 66-61

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing their second home game in less than 24 hours, the Pace University men's basketball team earned a 66-61 win over Chestnut Hill College on Sunday afternoon. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 2-0 for the second straight season.

Despite trailing for more than 35 minutes of game time, the Setters managed to pull out a second straight triumph to open their new campaign. Pace's first lead of the contest (58-57) came with just 4:50 left in regulation following a Marc Dadika (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saint Mary's Rutherford) layup.

Overall, the Blue and Gold closed out the final 8:24 of the second half on an 18-6 run. Another Dadika bucket put the Setters up 63-59 with a little over a minute remaining.

Pace's defense in the second half served as the main catalyst against the Griffins. The Setters limited Chestnut Hill to 8-of-25 (32%) shooting across the final 20 minutes, including a 1-for-7 effort from three-point range.

Graduate guard Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) led the way with a game-high 17 points, to go along with six assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Junior Christian Adams (New Haven, Conn./Hamden Hall) and Dadika also reached double figures in the points department. Adams finished with 14 points and five rebounds, while Dadika racked up 13 points and eight boards.

Austin Gilbertson (Etters, Pa./Trinity) matched his classmate Jacobs with six assists in the game, while also chipping in seven rebounds and five points.
