PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Facing a second nationally ranked opponent in the last 10 days, the Pace University women's soccer team was defeated by 14
th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday by a score of 2-1. Â
The Setters took a 1-0 edge against the Penmen with a goal in the 22
nd minute. Freshman
Allison Carr (Plantsville, Conn./Southington) found the back of the net for the second time this season, finishing off a nice cross into the box by sophomore
Gina Maucere (Deer Park, N.Y./Saint Anthony's).
SNHU notched each of their tallies in the second half—both coming off the foot of Jordan Butters. Butters' game-winning goal came via a penalty kick in the 83
rd minute.
It was evenly fought game throughout with both teams registering eight shots, and SNHU earning a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
