PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Despite facing a two-goal deficit in the second half, the Pace University field hockey team posted a 3-2 triumph over No. 8 Adelphi on Wednesday night. The comeback win is the Setters' fifth in a row, and improves their record to 12-5 overall this season (9-4, NE10).
Trailing 2-0 about mid-way through the third quarter, Pace quickly turned the table on the Panthers.
Junior
Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) struck first for the Setters with a penalty stroke goal in the 38
th minute. Bosher ranks second on the team this season with nine tallies.
About two minutes later, the Setters evened up the score. Freshman
Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) hammered in her 16
th goal of the year off an insertion from classmate
Noëlle Meij (Huizen, Netherlands / Laar & Berg Secondary School).
Dietz wasn't finished quite yet against Adelphi as she followed up with the game-winning tally in the fourth quarter as well.
Dietz's second goal of the game puts her atop the NE10 in scoring this season, while also tying Pace's single-season record (Halley Rose, 2018).
Senior goalkeeper
Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) picked up the win in net. The Australia native tallied six crucial saves en route to victory No. 12 this season. Â
