EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Beginning a busy week of matches, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated at East Stroudsburg in three sets (25-9, 25-13, 25-20) on Tuesday night.
Senior
Emily Cockell's (Springfield, Mo./Kickapoo) career-best 21 digs served as a highlight for the Setters. She has now reached double figures in digs in nine matches this season.
Also on the defensive side of the ball, freshman
Daniella Abbastante (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) registered a pair of solo blocks. She also chipped in a pair of kills and digs.
Offensively, it was a pair of sophomores leading the way.
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) and
Madisen Lupica (Buchanon, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) each tallied a team-high five kills.
Another sophomore,
Stephanie Sicilian (White Plains, N.Y./Valhalla), engineered most of the passing, finishing the match with a team-best 12 assists.
