Pace Field Hockey Shuts Out Saint Michael's on Senior Day, 5-0

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – It was a jovial Senior Day for the Pace University field hockey team on Saturday as the Setters earned a 5-0 victory over Saint Michael's. The Blue and Gold have now won four straight games, while improving their record to 11-5 this season (8-4, NE10).

The Setters tallied goals in every quarter, beginning with junior Hannah Wyllie (Guildford, England/George Abbot School) giving Pace a 1-0 edge in the 11th minute. Jessica Wolfe (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) crossed the ball to her classmate to earn the assist.

Freshman Noëlle Meij (Huizen, Netherlands / Laar & Berg Secondary School) was the next goal-scorer for the Setters as she rocketed in a pass from classmate Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac).

Dietz would later tack on her 15th goal of the season (2nd in the NE10) to provide Pace with a 4-0 lead in the 38th minute. Senior Chloe Mayhew (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) set up Dietz to pick up her second career assist.

Another senior, Danielle Merante (Garrison, N.Y./Walter Panas), found the back of the net in the 33rd minute, while sophomore Francesca Fava (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) rounded out the Setters' onslaught late in the fourth quarter. Wyllie recorded both assists as she finished the game with a team-high four points.

Senior goalkeeper Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) posted her 12th career shutout in net. The Australia native logged five saves in her 11th win of the season. She has now yielded one or fewer goals in 13 of the Setters' 16 contests this season.
