GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Despite trailing by two goals in the first half, the Pace University women's soccer team tallied a 4-3 triumph at Adelphi on Wednesday night. The victory, which was the first over the Panthers since 2014, improves the Setters' record to 5-6-3 this season.
Falling down 2-0 over the first 37 minutes of the contest, the Blue and Gold showed terrific backbone in their fifth win of the season.
Pace scored four consecutive goals, including three in a five-minute span to take a 4-2 lead in the 54
th minute.
Freshman
Allison Carr (Plantsville, Conn./Southington) put the Setters on the board late in the first half, while back-to-back tallies from senior
Carolina Ivanov (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) lifted Pace to a 3-2 advantage. Ivanov also assisted on Carr's goal to finish the game with five total points.
Freshman
Alyssa Cabral (Hollis Hills, N.Y./Francis Lewis) registered the Blue and Gold's fourth straight goal in the 54
th minute, which yielded a 4-2 edge for the road squad.
Junior
Patsy Ceseretti (Barrington, R.I./Northfield Mount Hermon) and freshman
Annabella Cole (Selden, N.Y./St. Anthony's) combined to earn the win in net for Pace. They finished the contest with a total of five saves, all of which were crucial in the outcome of the contest.
