PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sparked by three goals in the fourth quarter, the Pace University field hockey team put together a 4-0 win over AIC on Tuesday. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 8-5 this season, including a 6-4 mark inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
Following more than 39 minutes of scoreless action, the Setters broke things open near the end of the third quarter. Junior
Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) put Pace on the board after deflecting a
Krista Dietz (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) shot into the back of the net in the 40
th minute.
Another junior,
Hannah Wyllie (Guildford, England/George Abbot School), provided the Setters with a 2-0 lead in the 47
th minute when she hammered in a long-range shot past the AIC goalkeeper. Freshman
Noa Trabold (Hoorn, Netherlands/Murmellius) earned the assist on the play.
Bosher struck again in the 56
th minute for her seventh goal of the season—which ranks second on the team.
The Setters' leading scorer this season, Dietz, registered Pace's final tally with just one second on the clock. She put away a nice pass from
Kate Demars (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison) for her 10
th goal of the year.
Senior goalkeeper
Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) recorded her fourth shutout of the season, having to make a pair of saves to keep the clean sheet. Henderson currently ranks fifth in the NE10 this season in both save percentage (.795) and goals-against average (1.14).
