SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In their first meet of the 2021-22 season, the Pace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were each defeated at Le Moyne College on Saturday.
Women's Results (Le Moyne 134, Pace 94)
Graduate student
Annabel Keppel-Palmer (Kent, England/Maidstone Grammar School) led the way for the Setters in their season-opener. The England native tallied a pair of individual wins, in addition to being a member of a triumphant relay team.
Keppel-Palmer's solo victories came in the 200-IM (2:18.42) and 100-back (1:01.38). She also joined
Katherine Devaney (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Eastchester),
Rose Clarke (Acworth, Ga./Harrison) and
Katherine Kline (Salisbury Mills, N.Y./Washingtonville) for a winning swim in the 200-medley (1:57.22).
Devaney and Clarke also posted triumphant times with Devaney earning a victory in the 100-fly (1:03.49) and Clark winning the 100-breast (1:13.04).
In diving action, senior
Amy Calandro (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) nabbed first place in the one-meter with a high mark of 169.45.
Men's Results (Le Moyne 157, Pace 67)
Sophomore
Tyler Besnoff (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) served as Pace's leading scorer against the Dolphins. The Pennsylvania native earned a winning time in the 200-IM (2:05.87), while also placing second in the 500-free (5:09.44).
Four other Setters put together second-place performances on Saturday. Sophomore
Krishna Alexander Adapa (George Town, Cayman Islands/St. Ignatius Catholic School) tallied the second-fastest mark in the 100-breast (1:05.66) while
Nicholas Lombardo (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) did the same in the 200-free (1:57.78).
Senior
Samuel Gibson (Nassau, Bahamas/Saint Andrew's) recorded a second-place time in the 100-fly (57.56), while
Michael Ferstler (Canton, Mass./Canton) finished runner-up in the 100-back (59.62).
