Former Men's Basketball Star, Al Elliott ('02), Selected to D2 East Hoops' "Super 75" List

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Former Pace University men's basketball star, Al Elliott ('02), has been recognized by D2 East Hoops as part of their "Super 75" for the shooting guard position. The "Super 75" ranks the top 15 players at each position among players over the last four decades.

Elliott is one of the best to ever don the Blue and Gold, playing for the Setters from 1998 through 2002. Despite having his freshman season cut short due to injury, Elliott's name is still all over Pace's all-time record books. He ranks in the top-14 in program history in five different categories, highlighted by 1,775 career points—which ranks fifth all-time.

As a senior, Elliott averaged more than 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists per contest en route to being named an All-America Honorable Mention. He led the Setters to one of their best seasons ever that year. The 2001-02 campaign featured a 21-8 record, and a berth into NCAA Division II Tournament. Elliott scored a team-high 25 points in the NCAA First Round to lead Pace to a 92-88 win over Queens College. He also notched 25 points and 10 rebounds the following night in a loss to Assumption, which ended up being the final game of his illustrious Pace career.

All in all, Elliott was named to three NE10 All-Conference Teams in addition to being selected as the ECAC Rookie of the Year in 1999.

The criteria and rankings for the "Super 75" set by Chris Granozio, who has covered Division II basketball in the East Region since 1982, are;
  1. Granozio must have seen the player in person at least once
  2. He must have played for a team that was competing in the East (formerly known as the New England and then the Northeast) Region at the time
  3. The player's career must have been completed by 2021
