Pace Baseball Falls Twice to No. 20 New York Tech

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Continuing their current long home stand, the Pace University baseball team dropped a pair of contests to 20th-ranked New York Tech on Sunday afternoon. The defeats shift the Setters' record to 5-6 so far this season.

Game One – NYIT 17, Pace 3

The final three innings told the story in the opener. With the score tied at 3-3 after 6.5 frames, the Bears tallied 14 runs across the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

Seven different Setters each had one hit in the contest, while Justin Scotto (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional High School) and Noah Clement (Voorhees, N.J./Roman Catholic High School) both tallied RBIs.  

Game Two – NYIT 6, Pace 1

A five-run fifth inning propelled the Bears in Game Two.

Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens) led Pace with two hits in the game, while Greg Tsouprakos (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) recorded the lone RBI on a sac fly in the fourth inning.

Greg Najar (Howell, N.J./Freehold Township) registered 1.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

The Setters will be back in action during the mid-week, hosting Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
