Women's Basketball Surges Past Saint Rose, 75-45

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In one of their most dominant efforts of the season, the Pace University women's basketball team picked up a 75-45 win over the College of Saint Rose on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Setters' overall record to 17-7 this season, and 10-5 in the NE10.

Pace's decisive victory was fueled by a huge second quarter that saw the home team outscore Saint Rose by a 21-5 margin. The Setters also ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run, sparking their dominant first half.

The Blue and Gold's onslaught involved a terrific effort from long range. Pace knocked in a season-high 12 three-pointers on 23 attempts (52.2%). The Setters were especially hot in the first half, making 7-of-9 from beyond the arc.

The Blue and Gold put three in double figures, while nine different players registered at least one point in the contest.

Junior Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) served as Pace's leading scorer with 17 points, while senior Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) put in 16 of her own. DelliSanti added 12 rebounds and five assists as well, marking her 10th double-double of the season.

Sophomore Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) also reached double figures, finishing the game with 12 points on 4-of-4 from three-point land. She also led the Blue and Gold with four steals in the contest.

Pace's other top shooters included sophomore Kelsey Quain (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining), who put in three long balls, while senior Italee Brown-Smikle (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) made a pair from long range.
