Jacobs Surpasses 1,000 Career Points in Men's Basketball's Defeat to Le Moyne

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Beginning the second half of the regular season on Wednesday night, the Pace University men's basketball team was defeated by Le Moyne College, 77-61. The loss puts the Setters at 11-4 this season, which includes a record of 3-3 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.

Senior Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J./Southern Regional) led the way for the Blue and Gold, tallying his eighth 20-point effort of the season. The NE10's leading scorer (22.4 ppg) finished the game with 25 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Wejnert put together a 7-for-13 night from the floor, while making 11 of his 16 attempts from the free-throw line. He is now slotted 12th in the NE10 in field-goal percentage this season, while upping his rebounding average to 8.6 boards per contest.

Christian Adams (New Haven, Conn./Hamden Hall) was Pace's other double-digit scorer with 11 points—which included a trio of three-pointers.

Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) followed Adams with eight points, while reaching a historical milestone in the process. With his second field goal of the game, Jacobs became just the 36th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points.

Jacobs is now one of two current Setters to have more than 1,000 points in Pleasantville, joining Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J./Southern Regional) who also achieved the mark as a junior.

Jacobs supplemented his scoring with a team-high five assists. He continues to lead the NE10 in that category, dishing out an average of 7.9 helpers per game.

Collectively, the Setters posted one of their lowest shooting percentages of the season, making just 21 of their 54 attempts from the field (38.9 percent). They finished 4-for-20 from three-point range.

Prior to Wednesday, Pace had made nine three-pointers in four-straight contests.
