EASTON, Mass. – Facing one of the top teams on the other side of the Northeast-10 Conference standings, the Pace University women's basketball team picked up a 73-70 win at Stonehill College (11-5, 7-3) on Wednesday night. The victory puts the Setters' record at 14-5 overall this season, and 7-3 inside the NE10.
Lauren Schetter's (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) game-high 27 points highlighted Pace's road triumph. The junior also grabbed 11 rebounds, marking her sixth double-double of the season—and third in her last four games.
Schetter chipped in other ways as well on Wednesday, collecting three assists, a block and a steal.
Sophomore Kelsey Quain (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) provided Pace a huge spark from beyond the arc, knocking in 5-of-7 attempts from long range.
Quain's final three-pointer of night was especially clutch as it tied the game up at 65-65 with less than three minutes remaining.
The three-ball from Quain kick-started an 11-0 run that put Pace up 73-65 with 22 seconds left in regulation.
Prior to that, Stonehill had erased a 13-point second-half deficit to go up by three points at the 3:19 mark of the fourth.
Senior Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) served as Pace's third-leading scorer with 12 points. She has now tallied double-figures in all 19 of Pace's games this season.
Sophomore Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) once again led the Setters in assists, tying a season-high with seven, to go along with seven points.
The Blue and Gold put together a 28-for-55 effort from the field, marking the fourth time this season that they have eclipsed 50 percent from the floor.
