CALDWELL, N.J. – Beginning their second semester of action, the Pace University women's basketball team opened 2020 with a 58-46 win at Caldwell on Thursday afternoon. The triumph puts the Setters' record at 10-3 so far this season.
Senior
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) led the way for the Blue and Gold in their final non-conference contest. The Commack, N.Y. native finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds en route to her fifth double-double of the season.
Sophomore
Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) and junior
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) joined DelliSanti in double figures on Thursday.
Wong did a little of everything for Pace, posting totals of 15 points, six steals (career-high) and five assists, while Schetter chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds.
Junior
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) also hauled in nine boards as Pace outrebounded the Cougars by a 41-31 margin.
The Setters were terrific in sharing the ball versus Caldwell, piling up 16 assists on 20 made field goals.
On the other side of the ball, Pace forced 16 turnovers and held the Cougars to 32.1 percent shooting from the field. Caldwell made just 2 of its 13 attempts (15.4 percent) from three-point range.
The Setters built up their lead to as many as 17 points in the second half after a 15-2 Setters' run finished the third quarter and spilled into the fourth.
