PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Pace University men's basketball team grabbed its first win against a nationally ranked team on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 14 Bentley by a score of 76-66. The victory improves the Setters to 12-6 overall and adds another conference victory (4-5) to their resume.

The Blue and Gold were led by NE10 scoring leader,
Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J./Southern Regional), who dropped 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

Saturday marks the fourth time Wejnert has scored at least 30 points this year and the second time he's registered a double-double with at least 30 points. The senior forward also had his most efficient game this season, shooting 76 percent from the field.

Freshman
Bryan Powell (Middletown, N.Y./Canterbury School) and junior
Austin Gilbertson (Etters, Pa./Trinity) each reached double digits on the day. Powell finished with 14 points on six-of-eight from the field, and also tallied four blocks. Gilbertson added 12 points and a season-high eight assists in the win.

On defense,
Ray Montilus (Union, N.J./Pope John XXII) continued to come up with takeaways for the Setters. Montilus recorded three steals, marking the eighth time that he has finished a game with more than two steals this season.

Point guard
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) also tallied a pair of steals while dishing out nine assists on the other end of the floor. He continues to rank first in the NE10 in assists per game at 7.7, while also sitting fourth in the country.

Bentley, which ranks first in the conference in rebounding margin was bested by Pace on the glass. The Setters grabbed 34 total boards to the Falcons' 32.

Additionally, Bentley, which is one of the premier three-point shooting teams in the NE10 at 40 percent was held to just five of 21 long balls on the day.
