PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - By holding the NE10's top-scoring team to its lowest point total of the season, the Pace University women's basketball team defeated No. 22 ranked Saint Anselm College on Saturday afternoon, 73-60. The win improves the Setters' record to 12-4 this year, while also putting them at 5-2 inside the NE10.
Junior Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) led the stellar defensive efforts for the Blue and Gold. Schetter recorded three steals and one block while also posting her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She also added five assists on the afternoon.
On the offensive end of the floor, senior Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) served as the leading scorer for the Blue and Gold. She finished with 18 points, marking the 15th time that she has scored 15 points or more in a game this season.
DelliSanti and Schetter were just two of four Setters to reach double-digits in the win. Junior Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) dropped a career-high 16 points, shooting 67 percent from the field. Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) chalked up 11 points of her own while also adding a pair of steals and a pair of rebounds.
The Setters outscored Saint Anselm, 42-26, in the paint and held the NE10's leading scorer, Shannon Ryan, to her second lowest point total (12) all season.
Pace is now one of three teams in the conference (Bentley and Adelphi) with 12 or more wins on the season.
