Pace Field Hockey Earns Dramatic Shootout Win Against AIC

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In one of the most dramatic finishes you will ever see, the Pace University field hockey team registered a 4-3 shootout win over AIC on Tuesday.

Following an even 80 minutes of action—which included a pair of scoreless overtimes—the Setters were finally able to come out victorious in shootout fashion.

After the first six penalties also resulted in a draw, junior Mia Lennon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) and sophomore Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) served as the heroes for Pace.

Lennon found the back of the net for the second time during the shootout, while Henderson's final save of the game clinched a Setters' victory.

Speaking of Henderson, she made eight stops in the contest—including five in double overtime alone.

The Setters' offense in regulation all came in the third quarter as they battled back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to force extra time.

Sophomore Mia Radici (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) put the Blue and Gold on the board in the 32nd minute, while freshman Cienna Bosher (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) knotted things up with her first career goal less than two minutes later.

Sophomore Danielle Merante (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) evened the game up once again with a tally at the 38:01 mark.
