PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University baseball team was defeated by Caldwell on Wednesday afternoon. The 4-1 loss shifts Pace's record on the season to 27-14.

It was a rough day at the plate for the Setters, as the Blue and Gold managed only four hits against Caldwell's Jerry Gamone.

Justin Scotto (Tinton Falls, NJ/Monmouth Regional High School) delivered Pace's biggest hit, as his his second home run of the season in the eighth inning accounted for the Setters' lone run of the day. Christian Lovecchio (North White Plains, NY/Valhalla High School) had two of Pace's other hits while adding a steal on the basepaths.

Seven different Setters took the mound on Wednesday. Anthony Criscione (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman), George Rodriguez (New York, NY/Nanuet Senior High School / Fordham), and Angus McCloskey (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) combined for three innings, with only Rodriguez allowing a baserunner in his frame of work.
