No. 10 Men's Lacrosse Defeated at No. 2 Adelphi in NE10 Semifinals, 15-12

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament, the 10th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team was defeated at second-ranked Adelphi on Wednesday night by a score of 15-12. The loss moves the Setters' record to 13-4 this season, while the Panthers shift to 16-1.

The Setters had seven different goal-scorers in the contest, led by a four-spot from graduate student Connor Vercruysse (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown).

Daniel Keenan (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) served as Pace's top point-producer with seven courtesy of three goals and four assists. The senior has now tallied five or more points in five straight games, and continues to lead the NE10 in that category (90).

Five other Setters found the back of net, including senior Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic), who also dished out four assists. Sophomore Patrick Mulcahy (West Islip, NY/West Islip) led Pace with seven ground balls, while freshman Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) posted 12 stops in net.

Tied at 7-7 following a Joseph Diggle (West Islip, NY/West Islip) goal at 5:32 of the second quarter, a 7-0 run for Adelphi that lasted until less than three minutes left in the third proved to be the difference in the game.

The Diggle goal served as the sixth tie between the two teams over the first quarter and a half of action.

The Setters outscored Adelphi, 5-1, over the game's final 15:09, but the seven-goal deficit was too much to overcome.

Panthers' keeper, Brendan McDougal, tallied 13 stops to earn the win.
