RINDGE, N.H. – In the second of two doubleheaders this weekend in New Hampshire, the Pace University softball team tallied a sweep of Franklin Pierce on Sunday afternoon.
In the first meetings between the two programs since 2013, the Setters notched victories of 14-1 and 5-3.
Following a decisive win in the opener, Pace notched an extra-inning triumph in the day's finale. The Setters broke open a 3-3 tie with a pair of runs in the eighth inning.
Freshman 
Arielle Acosta (Union City,  CA/Moreau Catholic High School) came up with the big hit in the second game, driving in both runs in the eighth inning with an RBI single up the middle. Acosta also put together a solid opening contest, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
The Setters had numerous other top offensive performers on Sunday en route to piling up 19 runs and 26 hits.
Senior 
Lindsey Ah Soon (Ewa Beach, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) led the way, combining to go 5-for-8 across the two games with three RBIs. Classmate 
Annie Carberry (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek) was also a force at the plate, putting together a 4-for-8, three-RBI day.
In Pace's 14-1 win, junior 
Emma Carruth (Torrance, CA/Beverly Hills) served as the spark with three hits, three runs scored, two RBIs and a walk. 
Briana Ryan (Wilmington, CA/Carson) and 
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, OR/Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) each drove in three runs in Game One.
MacKenzie Garrick (South River, NJ/South River) and 
Kate Dolinski (Fort Langley, B.C./Yale Secondary) earned the pitching victories for the Blue and Gold. Garrick allowed just one run over six innings of work in the opener, while Dolinski went the full eight innings in the second contest.

The Setters will host the University of New Haven on Tuesday afternoon (4 p.m.). Pace and the Chargers will continue their game from April 3 (tied 3-3, 9
th inning) before finishing the season series with a single contest.
