Pace Baseball Sweeps Saint Anselm to Complete Perfect Weekend

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Pace University baseball team completed a perfect road weekend on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of Saint Anselm College. The victories improve the Setters' overall record to 19-9 this season, including a mark of 8-5 inside the NE10.

Pace's five-run eighth inning in the first game sparked a doubleheader sweep that featured winning scores of 6-2 and 14-1. The triumphant Setters totaled 21 hits and 18 walks in both contests.

Dean DePreta (Stamford, CT/Westhill High School) led Pace's onslaught, going 5-for-9 with a walk, three runs scored, and two RBIs. He launched his first home run with Pace in the fourth inning of Game Two.

Michael Barbato (Sparkill, NY/Tappan Zee) and Brian Bohlander (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) also put together solid efforts, combining to go 4-for-10 with five runs scored and six walks.  

Noah Clement (Voorhees, NJ/Roman Catholic High School) chipped in a 3-for-8 afternoon, while Luke Jacobi (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) drove in a team-high three runs in the second game. Jacobi walked twice with the bases loaded

Greg Najar (Howell, NJ/Freehold Township) and Nelson Arroyo (Washingtonville, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) picked up the wins on the mound, while Thomas Ippolito (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) tossed six innings without allowing an earned run in the opener. Najar posted five scoreless as the starter in Game Two.
