No. 17 Women's Lacrosse Closes Out Regular Season With Seventh Straight Win

RINDGE, N.H. – The No. 17 Pace University women's lacrosse team closed out their regular season on Saturday, defeating Franklin Pierce, 17-10. With the win, the Setters enter the postseason winners of seven straight.

The victory also provides Pace with the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NE10 Tournament as they wrap up the regular season with an overall record of 11-6, including a mark of 9-4 in conference play.

Fighting their way out of an early 3-0 hole, the Setters scored eight straight goals in the first half to take a lead they would never look back from.

Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) led Pace with a seven-point performance, scoring four goals and three assists. Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) (3 G, 1 A) and Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) (3 G) each also had hat tricks in the game.

The trio of Johnna Leone (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale), Kayla Conway (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh), and Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) all found the back of the Raven net twice, while Emma Norton (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) also recorded a goal on the day. Corretjer and Conway combined for 13 draw controls, while eight different members of the Blue and Gold ended the day with a ground ball.

The 8-0 run, led by four tallies from Corretjer, put the Setters up 8-3 with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. Franklin Pierce would score once more before halftime on Bella Lima's second tally of the opening 30 minutes.

Pace immediately built up their lead in the second as Rafferty scored twice in the first three minutes to put the Setters ahead 10-4. Franklin Pierce went on a mini 3-1 run before five consecutive goals by the Setters effectively put the game away.
