PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University softball team closed out their home schedule for the 2019 regular season, falling to The College of Saint Rose on Thursday, 9-4. With the loss, the Setters' winning streak comes to an end at nine games. Pace's record now sits at 18-19 overall and 8-14 against the Northeast-10 Conference.
The contest had originally began on Monday before rain suspended action in the second inning. Prior to the stoppage, the Golden Knights had taken a 4-2 lead. After Saint Rose got on the board quickly, the Setters got two back off a
Niyah Brown (Chino, CA/Chino Hills) RBI double that scored
Arielle Acosta (Union City, CA/Moreau Catholic High School) and
Niyah Brown (Chino, CA/Chino Hills).
With action resuming on Thursday afternoon, the Golden Knights scored a pair of runs in the second inning.
Emma Schafer's (Mission Viejo, CA/El Toro) third home run of the year in the third cut the Saint Rose lead down to 6-3, but the Golden Knights would plate another pair of runs in the fourth.
Lindsey Ah Soon (Ewa Beach, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) would score Pace's final run of the day with her second home run of the season.
Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W Baker) would take the loss, allowing four earned runs over her 3.1 innings.
Kate Dolinski (Fort Langley, B.C./Yale Secondary) was strong in relief, closing out the day with 3.2 innings with just one hit and an unearned run allowed.

Pace heads into the final weekend of the regular season for a three-game series at American International. The Setters and Yellow Jackets will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
