WORCESTER, Mass. – In their final game of the regular season, the 11th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team earned a 17-11 win at Assumption College on Wednesday. The Setters will now enter the postseason with a 12-3 overall record, and an 8-3 mark inside the NE10.
Pace's victory over the Greyhounds clinched the No. 4 seed in the upcoming conference championship tournament. The Blue and Gold will now host fifth-seeded Bentley University on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
A pair of seniors led the way for Pace on Wednesday night as Daniel Keenan (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) and Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic) each racked up a team-high six points.
Paterson posted one goal and five assists, while Keenan finished with four tallies and a pair of assists.
Another two seniors in Wyatt Barfoot (Georgian Bluffs, Ontario/St. Mary's) and Connor Vercruysse (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) also put forth stellar stat lines, combining for six goals and two assists.
Trailing 8-6 early in the second half, the Setters rattled off a 9-2 run to take a 15-10 lead at the 5:52 mark of the fourth quarter.
In addition to their 17 goals in the game, the Blue and Gold added another 16 shots on goal.
