PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A busy weekend begins on Friday as the Pace University spring sports teams takes the spotlight. Baseball heads to North Carolina for a weekend in Cary, while both women's and men's lacrosse teams return to action.

After inclement weather canceled the remainder of Pace's season-opening homestand, the Setters head south to North Carolina for four neutral-site games as part of the
DII Baseball Challenge vs Cancer.
The site of the 2019 NCAA DII Baseball Championship will host a weekend of baseball beginning with Pace taking on Mansfield on Friday morning. The Setters are off to a 1-0 start after defeating LIU Post 2-1 in extra innings in their season opener last Friday.
Dan Wirchansky (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland/RCC) worked six solid innings in his first start of the year, allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven.
Lorenzo Russo (East Northport, NY/Commack) was also solid on the mound, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings and surrendering just one hit. Sophomore
Luke Jacobi (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) provided the heroics on Friday with the walk-off single in the 10
th inning.

Mansfield enters the weekend at 1-1 overall, coming off a 6-1 loss to Concord University at the Glenville State Tournament on Saturday. Clarion comes to Cary at 5-5 following a 17-8 victory over West Liberty to close out the PSAC/Mountain East Challenge on Saturday. East Stroudsburg is off to a 7-1 start to the year, most recently defeating Jefferson on Sunday, 6-2. Jefferson, meanwhile, will look for their first win of the year in North Carolina, sitting at 0-4 heading into the weekend.

Pace's five-game road trip continues on Saturday, as the 14
th-ranked Setters travel to East Stroudsburg. The Blue and Gold fell to 1-1 on the year after dropping an 11-9 contest to No. 6 LIU Post on Wednesday. Seven different Setters played their way onto the goal sheet, with
Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) and
Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) both leading the team with two goals apiece. Freshman
Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) and sophomore
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) also finished with multiple points on the day, combining for two goals and three assists. Corretjer chipped in a game-high six draw controls as well. In net,
Sienna Masullo (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai School District) comes off an 11-save performance over a full 60 minutes of work.

The Warriors host Chestnut Hill on Thursday afternoon ahead of Saturday's showdown with the Setters. East Stroudsburg is 1-1 through their first two games and come off a 14-10 loss to No. 2 Adelphi on Sunday.

Getting off to a 2-0 start for a third straight year, the eighth-ranked Setters will look to remain perfect in the early season when they host Georgian Court on Sunday. Pace defeated No. 6 LIU Post in their first road test of the year last Saturday, 10-7.
Daniel Keenan (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) led the Blue and Gold attack with a four-point performance, scoring three goals and collecting an assist.
Joseph Diggle (West Islip, NY/West Islip) also had a pair of goals, while
Louis Ragusa (Ossining, NY/Yorktown) made 12 saves in net to earn his second win of the season. Ragusa was selected as the NE10's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

The Lions are 1-4 this season, dropping their fourth-straight game on Tuesday against Embry-Riddle, 7-6, in overtime. Georgian Court will host Alderson Broaddus on Friday before making their way to Pleasantville on Sunday.
