PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Facing their third straight top-five ranked opponent, the 15
th-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 2 Adelphi on Wednesday night, 14-6.
After going down 5-1 with less than six minutes left in the first half, the Panthers ended the game on a 13-1 run (8-1 in the second half). Adelphi's comeback was led by eight goals from Kole Pollock.
Pace's hot start was sparked by three first-half goals from
Juliana Marcolini (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley), who also notched the Setters' lone tally after halftime. Marcolini's four goals in the contest marked a new career-high for the senior.
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, NY/Islip) and
Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) also found the back of the net for the Blue and Gold. Rafferty chipped in Pace's lone assist as well on Marcolini's second goal of the game.
